Technology horror is something I can’t say I’ve exactly embraced. You’ve got Untraceable, One Missed Call, the upcoming Text, and countless other feeble films attempting to use “New Media” as narrative devices. It’s rocket science, really. Yet, according to HollywoodReporter.com, Dimension Films is developing a thriller involving a killer teen social networking site and we’ve got to say, it was only a matter of time. According to the report, actress, Sara Rue came up with the idea for the untitled project and is slated to produce while T.S. Faull (Grimm Love) is writing the script. The story is to follow a group of teens who one-by-one are killed off with a web 2.0 twist. It’s going to put a serious damper on Top 8s across America.
"Online social networking is a widespread phenomenon that interests me greatly," Bob Weinstein said. "Combining it with a suspense thriller is a new and fresh way to explore this new trend."
