'Watchmen' Already Breaking Records?
Watchmen is breaking records already and it hasn't even been released yet! According to The Hollywood Reporter Watchmen will debut with 3,611 'playdates' on Friday (assuming this is screens not theaters) which is the highest number ever for an R-Rated film! Add to this a Thursday evening (Friday AM) show at midnight on a whopping 1600 screens! THR also reports that the Imax web site crashed four times this week caused by 'traffic surges' of people looking for ticket info. C'mon guys, the thing wasn't even shot for an Imax screen! Y'know, bigger isn't always better! In any event, this thing is gonna be a powerhouse this weekend, so if you want tix, better get them now.
