UPDATE 3/23/2009: The Child’s Eye in 3D will be the first Asian digital 3-D horror film! The Pang brothers (Danny and Oxide)—responsible for The Eye franchise that inspired that Jessica Alba remake you all remember so “fondly”—will begin shooting the film this June in Thailand under a $4.5 million budget. According to HollywoodReporter.com, The Child’s Eye in 3D tells the story of six stranded Hong Kong travelers during the shutdown of the Bangkok airport in the November 2008 anti-government protest and their supernatural encounters after the disappearance of three in the group.” Apparently there will also be some monsters involved.
“The way to handle a monster is the same as creating spooky and suspenseful atmosphere,” said Oxide Pang. “So it’s something we want to try in this film.” Well bring on the monsters and mayhem Pang bros!
