Details on Bill Hader's Slasher 'House of Joel'
It's not often that a dream project comes to fruition, but when it does the potential is huge! The dream project we're talking about now is SNL star Bill Hader's script for The House of Joel which is currently getting passed around the Judd Apatow crew. Ever since we saw Bill Hader give us his best Vincent Price, we've been enamored. So now, to hear from CHUD that his comedy/slasher script is getting picked up by Universal, well, stars align! Here's how Hader described the film at Sundance...
'It is definitely about guys nowadays, that idea that you watch f***ed up s**t on TV, how violence in our culture - this sounds really hoity toity - you watch f***ed up reality shows, I love true crime shows. The idea of that thing coming to your house, and what do you do? I would s**t my pants. That's basically what the movie is about. What if that guy decided to come to your house? What would you and your dips**t friends do about it?'
Excellent question, although we've heard similar rundowns before, we're still very much interested in seeing where this crew takes the idea. Funny men have long been promising a new take on horror: Kevin Smith, Adam Sandler, now Apatow. Who will be first and actually follow through with their plans?
There's no word yet on this movie being green lit, but Apatow Productions wants this movie made. And what Apatow wants...Apatow gets! What do you guys think? Psyched about this movie?
