We just received word via actress Felicia Day (Buffy, Doctor Horrible and just about any other cool project you can name) and her Twitter page that the final episode of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse, in which she was to have guest-starred will not be aired by Fox, thus making the planned second-to-last (or penultimate, for you high-falutin' types) episode the finale. But is this the series finale? Or is Fox making a move similar to that of the now-defunct WB when they delayed broadcasting the finale to Buffy's third season by several months, due to subject matter the network felt was inappropriate in the wake of the Columbine shootings? Hit the jump to read with Day has to say and for an update from FOX.

Day writes: "Man, day getting worse and worse. Found out my Dollhouse ep, #13 isn't gonna air. Only on DVD. Such a great part too. Thx Fox. :(

Updated: According to E! Online, Fox is denying that it has cancelled the show, and claims it is "100 percent in the decision phase". (Er, do you word wizards mean "decision-making phase"?) Still, I don't think this is a good sign. After all, if Disney made 1 more episode of Lost than ABC had planned to purchase, would the network refuse to air it? I dunno. Somehow I think they'd find a way.
