She's the voice of reason, a bit of a whiner and she loves to take in a soothing bubble bath in times of trouble. That's right folks; we’re talking about Nancy Thompson of 'Elm Street' fame! And get this, Platinum Dunes may have just locked in a new Nancy for their 2010 re-imagining of the Wes Craven classic, A Nightmare on Elm Street. Who's the lucky gal? Read on to find out...
According to Bloody-Disgusting, the lucky winner is none other than Rooney Mara. Who? What? Well, you may remember her as 'Classroom Girl #1' from Urban Legends: Bloody Mary. No? Hmmmm. Doesn't really matter, we think she's definitely got that girl next door quality needed for the new Nancy and word is she's in final negotiations for the role.
If she nabs it (and it's looking good) she'll be joining Jackie Earle Haley (Watchmen) as Freddy Krueger, Kyle Gallner (Jennifer's Body) as Quentin and Thomas Dekker (Laid to Rest) as Jesse (remember, we reported on this one first here). Is this going to go horribly wrong or are we all going to be pleasantly surprised? Sharpen those gloves and dust off your fedora, we'll know soon enough as filming begins next month in Chicago.
