Rodriguez Wields 'Machete'
This time, they f@&#ed with the RIGHT Mexican! Production Weekly and Variety.com are reporting that the full-length feature film adaptation of the mock Grindhouse trailer, Machete, is finally coming to fruition! According to the reports, Rodriguez has written the script and will direct with long-time editor Ethan Maniquis. Starring as the day-laborer/ex-federale/machete wielding maniac is Danny Trejo who is double-crossed by a corrupt state senator and goes about exacting his own finely sharpened revenge. Machete is slated to begin shooting in Austin this June.
Also on Robert Rodriguez’s ever growing list of films that seem to be announced and never made, is a return to the Predator franchise. Rodriguez has confirmed that he has indeed scripted a Predator film but no details on the plot or characters have been announced.
While Rodriguez has about a million flicks on his to-do list, his next official title is the futuristic action thriller, Nerveracker for Dimension Films hitting theaters in 2010. Can someone tell us what happened to Red Sonja? Anyone?
