Universal Pictures Tells 'The Secret'

The Secret on Hollywood’s latest comic book adaptation is out! Variety.com is reporting today that Mike Richardson’s graphic novel, illustrated by Jason Shawn Alexander, The Secret, is the next Dark Horse comic adaptation on the slate for Universal Pictures--the same studio that brought us Dark Horse’s Hellboy II: The Golden Army in 2008. Scott Milam (currently attached to a Mother’s Day remake for director Darren Lynn Bousman) will write the adaptation which centers on a group of high school students living a seemingly normal life until a teen prank goes terribly wrong. The story, according to the report, “puts a spin on the teen horror thriller.”

"People have a sense what a comic book movie is, but at Dark Horse, we're trying to defy some of those clichés and expectations," Richardson, who will also produce the flick told Variety.
