Even fire can't keep this big ape down! In an attempt to continually terrify Midwest vacationers, Universal Studios has just announced that King Kong (an attraction that burnt down last year) will be returning to Universal Studios Hollywood in 2010. Universal is calling the ride 'a thrilling and ground-breaking 4-D multi-sensory marvel!' It's interesting to note that the revamped attraction will be based off of Peter Jackson's 2005 reimagining, not the 1933 original. Now all they need to do is improve that damn Mummy ride! Full details after the jump.
From Universal Studios: 'King Kong is back with a vengeance. In summer 2010, Universal Studios Hollywood will debut a fierce, new 4-D multi-sensory attraction on the newly upgraded, famous Studio Tour.
The ground-breaking attraction based on the 2005 Oscar® award-winning film, is sure to become a fan-favorite and blow park guests away with thrilling action and cutting edge technology!
The completely re-imagined King Kong attraction will invite guests to don special glasses as they enter a darkened soundstage aboard the Studio Tour trams and will be transported via the magic of Surround Digital 3D projection deep into the dark heart of the world of Skull Island. Guests will be involved in a showdown between two colossal predators, getting a front-row seat to all the thrills and scares that fans of King Kong have come to know and love.'
