Christopher Lee Knighted -- Is the Queen a Horror Fan?

It seems like the U.S. just doesn't get horror like the U.K. Legendary genre film star Christopher Lee has been knighted by the Queen. And even if Her Majesty doesn't know the difference between Dracula and Saruman, it's just further proof of how our cousins across the pond know how to treat horror with respect.

The Oscars and Emmys traditionally overlook genre films and TV shows, but the BAFTAs pay tribute to them regularly. And while it took Ray Bradbury a lifetime to receive his Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters, Brit fantasy author Terry Pratchett became an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) at 50.

Ah well... Lee's defnitely earned it. The veteran actor is currently filming his one millionth film (or so it seems), the psychological thriller The Resident, in which he'll co-star with Oscar-winning actress Hilary Swank and Watchmen's Jeffrey Dean Morgan.

According to film's official press release, The Resident, "is a psychological thriller in the mold of Hammer classics.  Lee is cast in the role of August, a sinister old man hiding a dark secret who welcomes young doctor Juliet (Hilary Swank) into her new apartment managed by his attentive, but distant grandson Max (Jeffrey Dean Morgan)."

The Resident is scheduled for release next year.
