An American Werewolf in London

Bloody Disgusting received word from a tipster (and subsequently broke the news this weekend) that John Landis has apparently (and in a surprising move) sold the remake rights for An American Werewolf in London to Dimension Films. Hit the jump for more including a quote from Landis himself.

Landis tells Bloody Disgusting, 'Dimension is now in negotiation for the 'An American Werewolf in London' remake rights. Perhaps someone will make a brilliant movie out of it'

So they're still in 'negotiations', and with word coming down the rumor mill that Dimension is having big time money problems, we wouldn't be surprised if this story evolves even further in the coming weeks/months.

Should we really be surprised by this news? The real question is in how  they plan (whoever 'they' may be) on topping one of the greatest werewolf transformations ever put to film. No easy task, that's for sure. Someone might even get their neck chewed off for this one. What do you think?
