Heads up, Hellraiser fans… Simon and Schuster has just released the details of its upcoming Hellbound Hearts anthology. Inspired by Barker's original novella "The Hellbound Heart", the 21 stories that comprise the book (edited by Paul Kane and Marie O'Regan) are a mix of old and new tales designed to tear your soul apart. Hit the jump for the full cover image and list of contributors.

Hellbound Hearts, which is due out on 9/29, sports a new forword by Barker, an introduction by acclaimed horror editor Stephen Jones, and an afterword by Pinhead himself, actor Doug Bradley. Barker's cover painting depicts a Cenobite, created especially for this anthology, called "The Vestimenti." Most intriguing, however, is the presence of Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's story "Wordsworth", originally published in issue 20 of Marvel's Hellraiser comic book series. Will it be reprinted here in black and white, or will a special color insert be created to accommodate it? Comic art also comes into play with Christopher Golden and Mike Mignola's "Mechanisms", which features, according to Golden's website, "eight or nine very cool illustrations" by Mignola.
