We've got news on a pretty cool contest surrounding the home video release of Michael Dougherty's Trick 'r Treat and a quote from Director Ti West on Cabin Fever 2, direct from UK Fright Fest.

Trick 'r Treat Contest
WB is hosting a pretty cool contest surrounding the DVD/Blu-ray release of Michael Dougherty's (finally!) Trick 'r Treat.

To express their creativity and further engage with the movie, fans can enter the “Sam Fan Art Contest” by submitting a picture or video featuring the mischievous trick or treating demon from the movie.  Director Michael Dougherty will select top entries and winning entries will be featured on BD-Live when the movie streets on October 6th!  Prizes for this contest include a high-definition film camera from the LA Film School as well as PS3s and Trick r Treat themed merchandise.  Check www.trickrtreat-movie.com for more information!

Trick 'r Treat will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, On Demand and digital download on October 6th.

Ti West Talks Cabin Fever 2
If you haven't been over to slashfilm.com to check out their UK Fright Fest wrap up, you should. Amidst all of the raves and criticism there's an interesting blurb from director Ti West on Cabin Fever 2.

From slashfilm.com: He [Ti West] explained that the Lionsgate recut of his Cabin Fever 2 is now complete and that he wishes to disown it. According to him, his edit was like a John Waters or Todd Solondz film (yes, really) and featured heart wipes and star wipes (er…) and that the current version is much less esoteric and idiosyncratic. Yeah, West… but is it any better?

Still no word of an actual release date for Cabin Fever 2, it's been sitting on the shelf for a few years now.
