Kevin Smith's Red State Update
Where is Kevin Smith's horror flick Red State? We don't know, and unfortunately a recent interview with Kevin Smith at Sci-Fi Wire doesn't offer many answers either. Although Smith does tell the site he may have misunderstood the film's financial status.
In the interview with Sci Fi Wire Smith says, "I had a conversation with Jon Gordon, the producer on it, a dude who was our guy for years and years at Miramax. The other day Jon was over, and he's like, 'What have you been telling people about Red State?' And I was like, 'That we don't have any money, that we can't find the money.' He's like, 'Why are you telling people that? That's not true.' I said, 'I don't see any Red State money. If I don't see it, if I've never heard of it, then how do I think that it exists?'"
The article goes on to say that the money is there, it's just that producers want to hold off on any announcements until casting is confirmed. So there you have it, Smith may just have his Red State yet...or maybe not.
