According to the latest update from trippy prog-metal outfit The Flood, the up-and-coming quintet will join some of the hottest names in heavy music for the upcoming SAW VI soundtrack CD. Not that many of those songs will actually appear in the film itself – it's likely one of those 'music inspired by the motion picture' packages we know all too well around here – but at least it sounds like there's some sweet tunes lurking in there. Read on to learn more about The Flood's upcoming debut album, and watch their creepy video while you're at it!
The release of the SAW VI compilation (from Trustkill Records) comes three days before the film's 10/23 theatrical opening, and also features exclusive cuts from bands like Every Time I Die (no stranger to the SAW series, and whose singer Keith Buckley chatted with us recently about horror movies), Hatebreed, Shadows Fall, It Dies Today and Type O Negative.
The Flood's 'Lethal Injection' was recorded in the same sessions with their as-yet-untitled debut album, which was recorded in California's Radiostar Studios under the guiding hand of Sylvia Massy – whose production credits include legendary bands like Tool, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Smashing Pumpkins.
Check out the trip-a-delic video for their first single (strangely enough, it's also titled The Flood) right here!
