Updated: ‘Mother's Day' Strikes Back

Mother's Day director Darren Lynn Bousman's producer may be quick to dissociate his remake from Charles Kaufman's original, but Bousman himself appears to have nothing but fondness for the film. Yesterday, Lloyd Kaufman tweeted that he and his brother, original Mother's Day director Charles Kaufman (with whom he co-produced), will have cameos in the film as "sleazy bankers." Bousman posted the above pic of himself with both brothers on the Mother's Day set.

Mama ain't happy… The LA Times' Hero Complex recently ran an article by music critic Gina McIntyre, in which she criticized Darren Lynn Bousman's upcoming remake of Mother's Day. Now Mother's putting her foot down, as the film's co-producer Shara Kay has written a response to McIntyre's article.

In doing so, Kay drops a hint as to how Bousman's film will differ from the 1980 original directed by Charles Kaufman. (Hint: It involves two generations of gorgeous blonde actresses.) Check out the full article here.
