'Chainsaw', Meet Jigsaw

Business deals usually make for pretty boring news stories. But there's one taking place that should be of interest to contemporary horror fans. According to Variety, Twisted Pictures, who control the Saw franchise, is close to finalizing a deal to take over the Texas Chainsaw Massacre film series.
Does this mean we could see Leatherface team up with Jigsaw somewhere down the road? If grosses should start to decline on both franchise's films then I wouldn't discount it.
In the mean time, says Variety, "the current plan is to contemporize the storyline for a 3D film that would be scripted by Stephen Susco (The Grudge)."
