Post Mortem

FEARNET, the multi-platform entertainment service with the #1 Internet site for horror and thriller entertainment and news, announced today that it has begun production on its newest original web series: POST MORTEM WITH MICK GARRIS.  In the new series, Garris – one of the sci- fi and horror genre's favorite producers, writers and directors and the creator of such chilling series as the award-winning anthology Masters of Horror --  goes one-on-one with the biggest names in horror for provocative and insightful conversations.  The series will take fans further into the creative minds behind horror's greatest projects than anything before, making this must-see programming for any true film aficionado.  Each episode will feature Garris and one genre icon – unfiltered, uncensored and unscripted.  The guest lineup will include both on-and-behind-the-camera talent, with legends John Carpenter (Halloween, The Fog), Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street, FEARNET's original web series Fear Clinic), Tobe Hooper (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, Poltergeist) and Wes Craven (A Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream) are already scheduled to appear.

POST MORTEM WITH MICK GARRIS will premiere in December.  Perry Martin will direct; Jim Burns will serve as Executive Producer, and Eric Spiegelman will serve as Producer for Jetpack Media.  The agreement for the series was brokered by Eric and is managed by Echo Lake Management.  Echo Lake and Jetpack Media are producer representatives for all territories outside the U.S.

"We are thrilled to be partnered with Mick on the world's first-ever horror-themed celebrity chat show," said Diane Robina, President, FEARnet.  "There is nobody in the business who can bring to our audience what Mick can – an unprecedented knowledge of the industry from the ground up, and a network of A-List colleagues who are happy to share with him and our viewers their experiences, stories and insights about fear-inspired entertainment."

Garris noted, "Post Mortem is a great opportunity to sit one-on-one with icons of the horror genre, to find out what makes them tick, how and why they do what they do, and get their perspective on where we've been and where we're going in the world of fear."

Each 5-minute webisode will feature Garris and an esteemed guest from one of Hollywood's fright factories facing off in a freewheeling dialogue to discuss the state of the genre film industry from the inside out.  POST MORTEM WITH MICK GARRIS promises to be memorable and talked-about viewing for any fan of horror, thriller and suspense entertainment.  A wide variety of controversial and important subject matter will be tackled, including: the rise and fall of torture porn; classic movie monsters vs. the new beasts on the block; suspense vs. extreme and graphic violence; rubber vs. CGI; independent horror films compared with studio style blockbusters; challenges of the scream queens; horror and politics, and international fright.  The full-length interviews will appear on FEARnet  on demand.
