Weekend Box Office
The Twilight Saga: New Moon topped the box office this weekend crossing the 200M mark in just over two weeks of release. Surprised? No, not really. New Moon's total gross is now at just over 230M, but with a 70.2% drop off from its first week of release, we don't expect the flick to dominate the box office much longer.
According to Box Office Mojo 2012 and The Road were the only other genre flicks remaining in the top 10 over the holiday weekend. 2012 has earned nearly 140M in 3 weeks, while The Road, opening on only 111 screens, earned an impressive 1.5M with a per screen average of nearly $14,000.
