You don't hear too much about the black metal scene in India, but if the Mumbai-based Demonic Resurrection is any indication of the twisted talents at work in that country, the rest of the world should be sitting up and taking notice right freakin' now. The band has recently released a video teaser for their upcoming album The Return to Darkness, so venture below and learn more about their sinister plans for 2010...
Formed nearly a decade ago, Demonic Resurrection went through multiple personnel shake-ups before releasing their critically hailed album A Darkness Descends, which elevated the band above the independent metal scene in India and – along with the follow-up release Beyond the Darkness – drew lots of positive press. After pushing back the projected release date of The Return to Darkness (originally slated for 2008), the band is finally concluding work on this final chapter in the Darkness trilogy.
Featuring tracks like Where Dreams and Darkness Unite, The Unrelenting Surge of Vengeance and Lord Of Pestilence, the new record features artwork by Michel “Xaay” Loranc (who has crafted album covers for the likes of Nile, Behemoth and Necrophagist), which features prominently in the teaser below.
The album is now slated for release on January 15th, with more details (and a demo preview of Where Dreams and Darkness Unite) available on their MySpace. There's also a video in the works for The Unrelenting Surge of Vengeance, which will be posted soon. Check 'em out now!
