Vicious vamps were back in the Top 5 this weekend at the box office as Lionsgate's Daybreakers scored a mildly impressive 15 million for the weekend placing it in fourth place behind Avatar, Sherlock Holmes and Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakuel.

Daybreakers tells the story of a world in which humans are farmed for blood and vampires are the majority. The flick has been receiving fairly positive reviews and word of mouth so it'll be interesting to see how much of a drop off Daybreakers experiences in week 2.

In other news, mega-hit Avatar continues to take over the universe with a total tally of nearly 430M in three weeks.

This Friday (Jan 15th) is The Book of Eli and a wider release for Peter Jackson's The Lovely Bones.
