While we're all waiting patiently to see if there's a snowball's chance in hell of Sam Raimi returning to the Evil Dead universe now that he's done with Spider-Man, Ain't It Cool is reporting that we'll soon get the next best thing -- Dead star (and cult icon) Bruce Campbell battling the Frankenstein monster.
Campbell, in a message to AICN's Quint, says, "My partner at Dark Horse comics, Mike Richardson (normally a very rational and talented man), threatened to have his foot soldiers "crush my spleen" if I did what I am about to do. But the fans deserve to know, so with great trepidation I officially announce Bruce Vs. Frankenstein, the sequel to My Name is Bruce. Principal photography begins this fall in Oregon."
While My Name is Bruce had some fun moments, it didn't exactly raise the bar in horror-comedy. But I think we call all agree there's something so goofball crazy about the sequel's title that it's reason enough to give this bizarre franchise a second chance.
