Dueling Serial Killers on Pay Cable?
Looks like Dexter will have some competition. HBO and Fox 21 are developing a serial killer series of their own.
According to Variety, Mind Hunter is based on the book Mind Hunter: Inside the FBI’s Elite Serial Crime Unit by John Douglas and Mark Olshaker. The book “recounts Douglas’ experiences as a top FBI investigator of serial killers and rapists.” Like CBS’s Criminal Minds, the series won’t just be about tracking serial killers, but about profiling these criminals and getting into their heads.
Charlize Theron and David Fincher are attached to produce, along with Jennifer Orme Erwin (America’s Next Top Model) and Scott Buck (Dexter). Buck is currently writing the pilot.
