The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Jeffrey Dean Morgan, of Supernatural and Watchmen fame (pictured above as The Comedian in the latter), has signed on to play the role of an ex-detective who becomes a recluse after confronting a serial killer in The Unblinking Eye. Read more after the jump.
According to HR, Morgan's character "is tracked down by a relentless journalist. As the two confront each other, dark secrets from both their pasts come to light."
What excites me the most is that this psychological thriller is being written and helmed by Michael Bassett, whose Solomon Kane (based on the classic Robert E. Howard stories) looks pretty terrific. The film's budget is reported to be "just over $10 million"'. It begins shooting in May. Here's hoping for a lean and hard suspense film.
