This weekend saw Toy Fair 2010 kick off in New York City. An annual showcase for toy companies to display the goodies they plan to unveil on us hapless man-children (and, well, okay, a few women-children) throughout the coming year, this year's Toy Fair seems to offer a little less for adult collectors (as opposed to children) than those of past years. Whether this is due to the economy, the even-crappier-than-usual winter weather the east coast has endured lately, or an increasing number of alternate venues in which companies can unveil their wares (such as San Diego Comic-Con and the New York Comic-Con), there are, nevertheless, a few items on display that are sure to bring a grin to grown-up fans of horror toys, including Mattel's long-awaited line of Ghostbusters action figures, an expanded Cinema of Fear line from Mezco (pictured above), and the long-awaited new Nightmare on Elm Street figures. Hit the jump to learn more.

NECA had perhaps the most hotly awaited horror toys of the show, with its new Nightmare on Elm Street line, complete with pre- and post-burn Freddy Krueger as played by actor Jackie Earle Haley. Part of the excitement around this line is the fact that it offers the first full, official look of Haley in the Krueger makeup and costume. As can be seen in the above image, for better or for worse, he looks a lot more like a real burn victim than Robert Englund's Freddy did.
Almost as impressive was the ridiculously lifelike Dexter figure on display, the best-looking one yet from this red-hot show.
It seems we've been waiting forever for a proper line of Ghostbusters action figures, but Mattel finally unveiled them this weekend. All four Ghostbusters are represented in this line, as well as numerous ghosts, pieces of ghostbusting equipment, and even that no-good EPA guy Walter Peck.
As a longtime Universal Monsters fan, I'm thrilled to see a new line from Diamond Select Toys that offers up cool figures based on the studio's Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Wolf Man, and, my personal favorite, The Creature from the Black Lagoon.
Can't wait for Robert Rodriguez's Predators? Well feast your eyes on these new figures from NECA. No, wait, on second thought, don't -- it'll just make the wait harder.
Mezco's Cinema of Fear line has expanded to include a new Wolfman, as well as figures from Rob Zombie's Halloween series and new Texas Chainsaw Massacre toys.
Go check out Figures.com for lots more, including mini-busts from the upcoming Jonah Hex, some fine-looking True Blood figures, and Bioshock 2 and Clash of the Titans toys.
