American McGee, creator of the twisted American McGee’s Alice and its weird spiritual follow up American McGee’s Grimm, is once again returning to the fractured fairy tale font for his new project, simply titled Red.  More info and art after the jump!

McGee is certainly no stranger to Little Red Riding Hood, having already touched upon it in an episode of his bite-sized Grimm series, and Little Red Riding Hood is certainly no stranger to horror, from Neil Jordan’s The Company of Wolves to Tale of Tales’ strange arthouse metaphor game The Path.  However, if it’s one thing that can be certain, it’s that McGee will most likely throw subtlety to the wind in favor of hardcore dismemberment and deranged character designs.  Not that I’m complaining, mind you…

According to Game Set Watch, he will be pitching the idea at this year’s Game Developer’s Conference with the hope that a publisher will pick it up and allow him and studio Spicy Horse to develop the game alongside the sequel to Alice.
