Various sources are reporting this morning that actor Corey Haim has died at the age of 38. CNN has been posting updates as they become available, hit the jump for more.
According to CNN.com, Haim, 38, was taken to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, California, where he was pronounced dead at 2:15 a.m. PT (5:15 a.m. ET), Los Angeles County Coroner's spokeswoman Lt. Cheryl MacWillie told CNN. The hospital is a mile from Haim's apartment. Police Sgt. Frank Albarran told CNN the death appears to be accidental, possibly an overdose.
Haim is best known to horror fans from titles like Lost Boys, Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, Silver Bullet and Watchers. He also made a name for himself in the 80's starring alongside Corey Feldmen in teen comedies like License to Drive and Dream a Little Dream. But for those who grew up with Haim in the 80's, he'll always be remembered for his role in the 1986 coming of age dramatic comedy Lucas .
Recently Haim had been making convention appearances and seemed to be poised for a comeback despite his on again off again issues with substance abuse and his erratic behavior in the short lived reality series, The Two Coreys.
