Veteran bearers of the true metal flame since the early '80s, Metal Blade Records have just announced the launch of their own TV channel. Created not only as an outlet for their artists' videos, interviews and promos, but as a medium for introducing rare, classic, and previously unknown musical talents to the faithful, Metal Blade TV promises to roll out rare clips from the past three decades of metal history. Their press release covers a lot of ground, and we'll break it down for you below the fold... so dive in!
Metal Blade CEO and lifelong metal devotee Brian Slagel (whose very first compilation album included some young upstarts calling themselves Metallica) says Metal Blade TV will unearth rare and classic content from every heavy metal genre, era and global region. “We want to take you behind the scenes and see all the bands in a different way,” he reports. “There will be a lot of rare live video clips too.” Slagel has reportedly amassed an impressive three-decade collection of metal footage – enough to keep your horns up for a very long time… so to speak.
The first round of new features airing on the site include a new HD trailer for Primordial's All Empires Fall, footage of Lazarus A.D. performing at Japan's LoudPark Fest, a NAMM convention tour with As I Lay Dying's Phil Sgrosso, and an off-the-wall cooking show with Armored Saint's John Bush and Joey Vera. Also expect previously unseen clips from iconic bands like Cannibal Corpse, GWAR, King Diamond, Six Feet Under, Behemoth, Goatwhore, Amon Amarth, and plenty more.
The programming is rolling out now, so be sure to check out Metal Blade's official site to catch what's coming down the pipe next...
