It looks like Robert Rodriguez's cutlery-fixated vigilante won't be the only '70s b-movie pastiche hero to move out of the trailer park. Our friend Quint over at Ain't It Cool just got a fun scoop. Remember the faux exploitation trailer craze that followed in the wake of Grindhouse? There was a competition held to determine the best fan-made trailer, and the winner was Jason Eisener's Hobo with a Shotgun. Now Eisener is getting his big break, because today he starts shooting the feature-length Hobo film, and he's got a name actor to star in it. Hit the jump to find out who.
On AICN, Quint says he got a tip that Rutger Hauer will play the titular tramp on the big screen, replacing the trailer's Dave Brunt. I love me some Hauer (honestly, Sly, couldn't you have found room for him in The Expendables?), but Brunt excels in the trailer, so I'm hoping he'll appear in the film somewhere. To see what I mean, check out the trailer below.
