LA based alt-pop duo (and cult internet heroes) The Bastard Fairies apply their trademark wicked humor to a new single, Dirty Sexy Kill Kill... and for the accompanying promo video, they've wisely embraced one of our own favorite concepts, demonstrating that just about everything goes better with zombies – even if they're cute, kinda goofy zombies – and buckets of blood. Hit the jump and find out for yourself!
The intrepid creative team of Yellow Thunder Woman (that's her name by birth, by the way) and Robin Davey have already achieved major internet fame thanks to their attention-grabbing video for We're All Going to Hell, as well as some award-winning documentaries and a series of promos featuring “The Coolest 8 Year Old In The World,” in which a cute & precocious moppet offers her opinions on various socio-political topics.
Their latest audio-visual venture puts the focus back on the music – namely the new single Dirty Sexy Kill Kill, which uses the zombie theme and a lo-fi grindhouse-style treatment as a metaphor for a decomposing relationship... or something like that. But mostly it's a cool, catchy song, there's some fairly playful-looking amateur zombies (they even put grandma in walking-dead drag), plus a goofy retro intermission hawking “corn dogs and fizzy drinks.” But frankly, I tend to just stare at Yellow Thunder Woman for hours anyway, so that's all the reason I need.
You can download the song for free at the Bastard Fairies website – they've always been cool about giving away their music. But before you go, be sure to check out the slightly NSFW but damn adorable vid below...
