After a year-long hiatus, BBC America's hit series Torchwood has just been greenlit for a fourth season. Hit the jump for deets.
SFX reports that BBC Cymru Wales, BBC Worldwide and Starz Entertainment here in the U.S. are teaming up for a ten-episode co-production partnership. Series creator Russell T. Davies will return as showrunner. "While previous series," says the sci-fi website, "were based on location in Cardiff, Wales, this new instalment will see storylines widen to include locations in the US and around the world. John Barrowman and Eve Myles will return in their roles as Captain Jack and Gwen respectively, along with new faces."
Torchwood has its share of critics (and Lord knows it ain't perfect) but the show's long demonstrated a willingness to go to some truly batshit-crazy places. Places which few U.S. supernatural dramas would dare visit. So here's to a successful return with even more weird creatures and other-dimensonial menaces.
