Most of the news coming out of Comic-Con this week is about 3D. Previews of 3D movies, announcements of what 3D movies are coming up, 3D marketing, and more. Two genre heavy hitters - J.J. Abrams and Joss Whedon - aren't buying in to the hype. Find out what they think about 3D after the jump.
The New York Times was sitting in on the Abrams/Whedon panel at Comic-Con, and both filmmakers became uncomfortable when 3D was mentioned. Abrams promised his upcoming Super 8 would not be in 3D, while Whedon is hoping to capitalize on 2D. "We're hoping to be the only horror movie coming out that is not 3D," said Whedon when asked if his long-awaited Cabin In the Woods would be converted. He even suggested the posters carry the tag line, "It's painterly!"
