Adam Green and his faux-hawk were on hand last night, at Comic-Con along with the stars of Hatchet II, at the Old School American Horror panel to introduce footage from the film.  One of the cast even managed to come back from the dead for the second installment and writer/ director Tom Holland (Fright Night, Child's Play), who is back after 20 year hiatus  from acting to play Bob was a special treat for fans.

Green promised us more kills and more gore and from the eight (out of a promised 17) kills the audience saw last night, he most definitely delivered.  One scene actually used 25 gallons of blood. I don't want to ruin all of it for you so I'll just give you a few meaty bits to chew on.

Victor Crowley should really get some kind of prize for creativity and craftsmanship. He somehow modified a chainsaw to take care of more than one hunter at a time, splitting them up the middle, crotch-side first. He slices faces, decapitates, and makes someone's perfectly good teeth into a set of dentures. Crowley is clearing thinking about his golden years. We also got a look into the back story of young Mr. Crowley involving infidelity and a swampland curse, and met the monster's Mother.   Poor kid never had a chance.

Adam Green also told the crowd that getting a rating for Hatchet II has been a tough job thanks to the MPAA who requested that entire scenes be cut.

"If you want to strap down a woman and rape her for thirty minutes, the MPAA loves it, but god forbid a swamp monster with a  gas-powered belt sander chases a bunch of comedians through a swamp and kills them in 'Monty Python'-esque ways,"  Green joked.

That doesn't mean the movie is getting hacked to pieces, and according to Green, it's already been picked up by a major movie chain and will be released unrated across the country. Don't look for Hatchet III and IV from Green anytime soon. He says that it doesn't seem like he'll be involved.
