The Splat Pack is a documentary that looks back at the first decade of 21st Century horror films and a core group of filmmakers who re-energized the genre. These directors were dubbed “The Splat Pack,” by UK film critic Alan Jones because their films displayed new and intense levels of gore. The Splat Pack proved that R-rated horror could be commercially and critically successful.
The Splat Pack features interviews with Alexandre Aja (High Tension, Piranha 3D), Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II-IV), Adam Green (Hatchet), Alan Jones (film critic-Total Film), Harry Knowles (Head Geek-Ain’t It Cool), Greg McLean (Wolf Creek), Neil Marshall (Dog Soliders, The Descent), Greg Nicotero (KNB FX) and Eli Roth (Cabin Fever, Hostel).
