You may have been hearing the buzz surrounding this summer's Rockstar UPROAR music festival here on FEARnet over the past few weeks – including news about main-stage headliners Disturbed and Avenged Sevenfold. But now we've got a whole new angle for you FEAR fans: our own on-camera correspondent Spider – alias Spider One, mastermind of electro-metal unit Powerman 5000 – will be covering the fest this weekend at the Irvine, CA show, and kicking off festivities on the Jägermeister stage. If you're in the neighborhood, you just might be able to meet him in person... so flip it over and find out how!
FEARnet is one of the sponsors of this year's UPROAR fest, which has been churning along mightily since mid-August. The headlining acts, many of whom have been covered heavily this summer on these very pages, each boast chart-topping albums: a couple weeks ago, Disturbed racked up their fourth chart-topping release with their latest studio album Asylum (while we showed you the gruesomely awesome music video for the title track), and Avenged Sevenfold also topped the Billboard 200 with their fifth album Nightmare in late July. The other acts are equally stellar: Stone Sour, the side project of Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor (who released their third album Audio Secrecy last week), will also take the main stage with support by Halestorm – who just released their self-titled debut album to great acclaim.
Spider will be stepping up to the mic on the Jägermeister stage, at Irvine's Verizon Wireless Amphitheater on Friday, to give a proper FEARnet battle cry for Stage 2 headliners Hellyeah, supporting acts Airborne, New Medicine and Hail the Villain, plus additional up-and-comers at each venue: Attika and Eyes Set to Kill will be playing in Irvine, while Radio Band and Mower will appear in San Diego.
Be sure to check out the official UPROAR site for complete ticket info and other show details... then get yer ass out there and rock like hell!
