We just received word from Paul Terry, the co-author of the new Lost Encyclopedia, that the film The Furred Man, for which he’s served as producer and composer, has been nominated for Best Comedy at the London Portobello Film Festival.  It has also been accepted into the Sacramento Horror Film Festival, the Phoenix International Horror & Sci-Fi Festival, and Manchester Grimm Up North Horror Film Festival. "This brings our total to eight international festivals," says Terry, "just a few weeks after finishing the film and starting the submissions process, which we're thrilled with."

More on the film after the jump.

The Furred Man sees Max Naughton (American Werewolf in London, anyone?), wearing a black eye and a bloodied furry costume, being interrogated for a murder he swears he didn't commit.  “It's a horror-comedy," Terry tells us - which is good because it is impossible not to giggle at someone in a furry costume. "We have some great werewolf moments in it, thanks to the skills of effects master Jon Moore.”

“Aside from my publishing commitments, over the past decade I've also been working as a musician/composer and a producer for the shorts and feature work of writer/director Paul Williams. We formed Evil Hypnotist Productions ten years ago, and after a slew of shorts, and a feature, we've just completed our best film to date. We're really thrilled with the cast and crew we garnered for this short, and it's already getting some great festival coverage.”
