Lady 'Machete'?

Howlin' for You

Update: Looks like this is a parody trailer from the Black Keys, intended as a tribute to Rodriguez and Tarantino. What do you think? Does this one deserve to be made into a feature-length film?

In case you've missed it, there's a trailer out for a film that looks very much like Robert Rodriguez's recent faux grindhouse efforts Machete and Desperado. The twist is that this film -- Howlin' for You -- stars Battlestar Galactica's super-sexy Cylon Six, actress Tricia Helfer, as a hard-living, hard-screwing badass. Oh, and instead of Lindsay Lohan as a nun, we get Todd Bridges as a priest. More after the jump.

Some folks over at IMDB are bitching that Howlin' for You makes fun of Rodriguez. But what they don't seem to get is that it's actually trying to join Rodriguez in making fun of a type of '70s filmmaking that, though fondly remembered, was kind of ridiculous to begin with. And hey, if you love someone, you shouldn't be afraid to crack wise when they've got ketchup on their shirt, right?

Check out the full trailer below, and let us know what you think.
