One of the most distinctive lines to come out of Toy Fair last year was Bif Bang Pow’s The Twilight Zone bobbleheads and action figures created in both black and white and color depending on the individual piece. Luckily fans of the classic anthology jumped on these collectibles and the company is expanding the line for 2011.
The action figure line will next feature sepia-toned versions of the Alien from the episode “Hocus Pocus and Frisby,” Maya the Cat Girl from “Perchance to Dream,” the Doctor from “Eye of the Beholder," Henry Bemis and his books from “Time Enough at Last,” The Venusian from "Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?" and the Invader from “The Invaders.” Two packs retail for $39.99 and will be released in July, 2011.
Even more exciting are the full-scale prop replicas of two iconic pieces from The Twilight Zone episodes, “Nick of Time” and “Living Doll.” The Mystic Seer is a fully-functioning replica of the coin-operated fortune telling machine used by William Shatner in the episode. Made of steel and polyfoam, the box is a napkin holder and will take coins (there’s a bank inside), but it also produces actual fortunes too. Not that you want to read what it has to tell you. Available in July, the Seer will cost $249.99.
And for those of you that still can’t have a doll in your presence precisely because of “Talky Tina” in “Living Doll” you might want to stop reading right now. Otherwise, this 18-inch reproduction painstakingly captures every detail of the disturbing doll from her creepy arched eyebrows down to her shiny patent leathers. But the icing on the cake is that she speaks the exact chilling phrases uttered in the episode including, “"My name is Talky Tina, and you'll be sorry” and "My name is Talky Tina, and I'm going to kill you." Heart - stopping - now. If you can stand it, she goes on sale in July for $139.99.
