FIrst of all, my condolences to The Loved Ones' Robin McLeavy, whom we -- and a lot of other folks -- reported had nabbed the role of Mary Todd, the wife of President Abraham Lincoln in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Now, after the jump, check out my five reasons why it's awesome news that Mary Elizabeth Winstead has just signed on for the role opposite Benjamin Walker.

.) No slight against the talented McLeavy, but Winstead is an excellent actress; one whom I can easily see playing a woman of the 19th century.

.) Winstead's a heckuva nice person. Having interviewed her on the set of The Thing last year, I can attest that she's also friendly, funny and smart. With little to no attitude about her job.

.) Winstead's a favorite of fans, and appears to genuinely like our favorite genre, having starred in Final Destination 3, Grindhouse, and the upcoming Thing. (I'll forgive the fact that she headlined the suffocatingly precious Scott Pilgrim.)

.) As the above image indicates, Winstead is rather easy on the eyes.

.) The odds that I get to interview Mary Elizabeth Winstead again have just increased one hundred-fold!
