Davis Films, the folks behind Silent Hill: Revelations, have just announced that original Silent Hill stars Radha Mitchell and Sean Bean will return for the 3D sequel; which began shooting this month in Toronto. And to prove it -- they've unveiled a new photo of the lovely Mitchell in the movie! Check out the full image after the jump.
According to a press release sent today, Mitchell and Bean will be joined by their co-star on the first Silent Hill, Deborah Kara Unger. It's unclear how sizable their roles will be, since the sequel stars the previously announced Adelaide Clemens and Kit Harington (who's also Bean's co-star on the upcoming HBO series Game of Thrones).
Says writer-director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) in an official statement, "It wouldn't be the same without some of the original Silent Hill cast. Sean, Radha and Deborah's return will certainly thrill fans of the franchise and compliment Revelations stars Adelaide and Kit."
Director of photography Maxime Alexandre (who also shot Mitchell in The Crazies) in the same release reveals that Revelations is being filmed with the state-of-the-art 3D Red Epic camera: "With the most advanced technology available, in particular the lighter, smaller and more flexible 3D Red Epic, we are able to take audiences deeper in the world of Silent Hill than they ever dreamed possible. Devotees will finally be able to enter this realm along side of Heather, Vincent, Harry and Rose and experience the psychological horror and the fear of the unknown with them."
Here's the official synopsis for Silent Hill: Revelations...
For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn't fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
