Gotham City Impostors

A few days ago WB Games revealed Gotham City Impostors, their new multiplayer shooter based in the Batman corner of the DC Comics universe.  I had my apprehension, and understandably so: Batman famously abhors firearms (watching your parents getting shot will do that to ya), and the idea just comes across as weird, with gangs of "Bats" and "Jokerz" vying for control of Gotham.  However, the first bit of media from the upcoming title just came out and…I'm changing my tune.  Find out why after the break.

Developer Monolith (F.E.A.R. and Condemned) seems to have left the photorealistic look at the door, opting instead for a slightly exaggerated style in the vein of their spy classic No One Lives Forever.  The screenshot, found over at Kotaku, looks to be aiming for a much more over-the-top, campy vibe, which mercifully pulls this out of what I thought they were trying for: a dead-serious shooter set in the streets of Gotham.  Instead, it looks like we'll be playing with our tongues firmly planted in our cheeks.
