Chucky, the tiny terror of the Child's Play series, will be joining the likes of Jason Voorhees, Freddy Krueger, and Michael Myers in the ranks of slasher villains who have starred in their own video games. More on this rather startling announcement after the jump.
This news comes to us via Kotaku, who broke the story that developer TikGames has started work on a stealth-action title simply titled Chucky that puts players in the tiny shoes of the Good Guy gone bad, deciding "who lives and who dies." Uh, this is Chucky we're talking about…everyone dies.
What's the motivation behind bringing everyone's favorite diabolical doll into the interactive space? We'll let Alex Tikhman of TikGames explain.
"We're proud to be able to bring a fan-favorite movie character, such as Chucky, to gaming platforms. Fans have been asking for a Chucky game for years and, soon, gamers around the world will be able to enjoy highly-entertaining, interactive, downright gory experiences with this brand."
No specific platforms have been listed, although the usual next-gen triumvirate of Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC was suggested in the article.
Chucky will be released Fall 2011.
