Trans-European "werewolf-metal" combo Powerwolf have begun preparing the world for the arrival of their upcoming album Blood of the Saints: they've set up a new web page dedicated to the project, and they're now streaming the record's first single, "Sanctified with Dynamite." You can also listen to that song right here after the jump, scope the awesome cover art (three wolf popes, yo!) and check the complete track list. Come in and get your wolf on...
Hailing from all across Europe, Powerwolf base a lot of their music on Romanian werewolf legends, and from the artwork and song titles alone, it's obvious they're continuing the tradition on their fourth full-length release. The awesome art was actually created by the band's co-founder and lead guitarist Matthew Greywolf, who describes the new material as "a striking balance of mighty melodic stuff and some serious wolfish metal madness, all dressed up in some highly catchy tunes... It's been a hard piece of work, but it was so goddamn worth it." Here's the complete tracklist:
"Agnus Dei (Intro)"
"Sanctified with Dynamite"
"We Drink Your Blood"
"Murder at Midnight"
"All We Need is Blood"
"Dead Boys Don't Cry"
"Son of a Wolf"
"Night of the Werewolves"
"Phantom of the Funeral"
"Die, Die, Crucified"
"Ira Sancti (When the Saints are Going Wild)"
Blood of the Saints hits North American shores on July 29th, in regular and deluxe CD issues, plus vinyl. Their new landing page is being updated regularly, but you can get your first bite right here by firing up "Sanctified with Dynamite"...
