IDW is bringing a modern retelling of H.P. Lovecraft's The Dunwich Horror to comics. The four-volume series makes its debut this October. Joe R. Lansdale writes, with art by Peter Bergting. More details after the jump.
First published in April 1929 in Weird Tales, The Dunwich Horror tells the story of Wilbur Whateley and his quest for the necronomicon in order to open a portal to allow "The Old Ones" to return to this world. In addition to The Dunwich Horror, each comic in the series will include a comic adaptation of Lovecraft's short "The Hound." The tale of grave robbers who go too far will be adapted by Lovecraft historian Robert Weinberg and artist Menton3.
