One of the last major panels, Supernatural got it's "big break" in Hall H this morning. The producers were very forthcoming with what they have planned for season seven - a refreshing change-of-pace from other shows that will barely give away the fact that a new season is coming. Read on to see what is coming up.

Castiel is now the new god in town - that we knew coming in to this season. Cas, his powers, and the consequences of those powers will be the focus of the season, at least to start. There will be a "big bad" this season, who shows up in episode two. A new hunter joins the cast, an old friend of Bobby's who is a conspiracy nut and thinks the government is responsible for all these supernatural shenanigans.

Ben Edlund, who is responsible for some of the more bizarre, hilarious, and utterly memorable episodes of the series, already has a few ideas for what he would like to do this year. "I really want to put them on a spaceship! I don't know how we'd do it, but I'm pushing for it." Because really, why not? Edlund would also like to do an animated episode to tie-in with the recently released Supernatural: The Anime. The responses I have been hearing out of the Con about the anime have not been good, so Edlund may want to make it more in line with The Tick.

With the show heading into its seventh season, the producers know that each season may be their last. Edlund says they walk a fine line, making sure that they have an "endgame" but also leaving the series someplace to go. "The Winchesters' curse is that it will never be over for them."

Of fan-favorite The Ghostfacers, producer Sera Gamble promised the humorous reality-show ghost hunters will be back - they are just having a hard time working them into the storylines. Crowley returns early in the season, and there are "big plans" in store for him. Also returning: Jo, Sheriff Mills, and Death. More are in the negotiation stages.

Season seven returns to the CW on September 23rd at 9pm.
