On the heels of his Emmy win last weekend for his work creating some truly heinous zombies on AMC's The Walking Dead, show producer and FX master Greg Nicotero has just inked a new deal with the network that comes with all sorts of perks. He got a title bump, now naming him one of the co-executive producers on the series. He will also direct an episode this season, in addition to the six-part web series he conceived and directed. But wait! There's more!
Nicotero has also signed a first-look development deal with AMC. Does that mean more TV monsters are in our future? Sure sounds that way: "To be able to branch out and to develop not only the web series but also genre material is something I have always wanted to do; given the people I have had the pleasure of working with over the last 23 years," said Nicotero in a statement.
The web series focuses on "the origin story of 'Bicycle Girl,' the infamous 'walker' from Season 1, as she struggles to survive and protect her family as the world begins to fall apart." The web series premieres October 3rd.
