With more than 60 films (not including shorts or repertory films) playing at Fantastic Fest this year, it can be a little overwhelming. What makes the cut? Which do you choose to wait to potentially see, while knowingly missing out on others? Well, I cannot answer that for you. The best I can offer is this selection of the top five films we here at FEARnet are most looking forward to.

The Human Centipede 2
I have been more than a little obsessed with The Human Centipede since the first one shit its way onto the scene. The film itself is average; it is the idea of what the human centipede is that makes it so utterly compelling. So naturally, I am dying to check out how director Tom Six plans on topping himself.
Julia X
Hercules as a sociopath. Sounds like fun. Kevin Sorbo plays The Stranger, a deranged serial killer who marks each victim with the next letter of the alphabet in Julia X. Naturally, his most recent victim is named Julia, but she is not about to become victim X, and their relationship becomes... complicated. Of course, the biggest question I have is, what happens when he reaches the end of the alphabet? Does The Stranger switch to numbers? Double letters? Does he just stop killing all together?
"Incubator"
I love that urban legend about someone waking up in a tub of ice and discovering they are missing a kidney. This is not a new concept, but this short film promises a new twist in which waking up to discover a missing organ isn't the worst part of this guy's day.
Last Screening
The manager of a small art house cinema goes out every night after the last screening and kills a woman who reminds him of his past. Sounds like a pretty cut and dry serial killer flick, but the film notes promise that the style is influenced heavily by 1970s Italian giallo films, so I'm game. Since they are doing a Lucio Fulci retrospective at Fantastic Fest this year, it seems doubly fitting.
Zombie Ass
Zombies and poop jokes - what more do you need from a movie? This bit of Japanese trash involves experiments with parasites and zombies that emerge from an outhouse terrorizing a mad scientist and a group of perfectly stereotyped friends who are in the woods for a weekend getaway. With a title like Zombie Ass and a special classification in the "Bizarre" category, how can you go wrong?
