Meg Foster Joins 'Lords of Salem' Cast
Via an update on his Facebook page, Rob Zombie has announced Meg Foster as the first actor officially cast for his upcoming flick The Lords of Salem. Foster, probably best known among genre fans as the female lead in John Carpenter's awesome 1987 sci-fi thriller They Live, is now officially onboard for Rob's occult horror film, which is in the final stages of post-production and just about ready to begin shooting. According to Rob's update, Foster will be playing "Margaret Morgan, the leader of a secret coven of witches in Salem." For those of you who haven't been keeping up, the film's plot involves a small group of real witches who were executed separately from the historically documented victims of the Salem Witch Trials in 1692, returning to the town in modern times to seek revenge. Rob followed up the brief announcement with another quick post, mentioning the seldom seen (but quite excellent) 1980 film Carny as his favorite of Foster's roles.
