According to the director himself, Nicolas Cage (The Wicker Man and Ghost Rider) is vying for the part of The Fly in a planned remake of David Cronenberg?s 1986 cult classic, which is also a remake (hmmm a remake of a remake?) Cronenberg, who is working on an operatic version of the creepy man-insect story, will not be involved in the remakes remake, but he has been kept abreast of developments. He tells E! "From what I hear, Nic Cage wants the part." But will he get the part? O, the anticipation! Cronenberg?s 1986 film was about a scientist who transforms into half fly and half human!
