Let?s welcome in some TV horror that can adequately fill the thirst of genre fans! Though the television versions of horror may not contain the same gore as your R or NC-17 rated films, they may just tide you over for the time being, and often provide a chilling enough story to keep on watching, if even just for the moment. The 2008 television network lineup includes a healthy dose of science fiction inspired series?, dealings with the devil, vampires and a reality television show about pirates (like we really needed any more of rum breathed, treasure hunting arrrg-ers on the entertainment menu this year).
Moonlight ? From CBS, a private investigator, Mick, who happens to be a vampire spends his professional and personal life helping the living rather than feeding on them. Mick is accompanied by a few who help his cause in protecting the living in their attempts to find love
Masters of Science Fiction ? An ABC series featuring some of the most well known authors of science fiction in one hour episodes including Isaac Asimov (I Robot, Nightfall), Ray Bradbury (The Martian Chronicals, Fahrenheit 451) and Robert Heinlein (Puppet Masters, Stranger in a Strange Land).
Pirate Master ? As if the trilogy of Carribean Pirates wasn?t enough sea-sailing action, CBS has embarked on a reality show that will send 16 modern-day pirates that must live on the high seas to search for and compete for a hidden treasure, for the winning Pirate Master it will amount to $500,000.
Hidden Palms ? From CW, comes a Lionsgate television production in association with Outerbanks Entertainment from executive producers Kevin Williamson (I Know What You Did Last Summer, Scream 1, 2, and 3), and the story of a teenager with an idyllic life until the suicide of his father lands him in a surreal small town with a hidden secret.
Reaper - A CW drama series about souls who have somehow escaped the fortress of hell and the young man who must return them to Satan.
Bionic Woman ? An NBC series about a woman with a less than ideal personal life who has a devastating car accident leaving her near death. The only way for her to have an almost normal life again is to trust the pricey cutting-edge top-secret technology that comes with a few extraordinary abilities as side effects.
